practicality and being realisitc most of the time are the main reasons for staying in a job but have you listed your interest and trying out jobs that are closest to your interest? maybe you'd find something worth working for. smile

i'd say passion should come first before anything else or else, no matter how high the salary is, you'd get burned out pretty quick.
so before anything else, love your job, have a passion for it and the money will follow. smile
